I’m sure Vitor Pereira’s priority is not the FA cup, but getting back to winning ways and breeding confidence into the squad will be, handing a debut to the assured Agbadou to build relationships on the pitch with his team-mates would have been an added bonus.
When the surprisingly strong line-up was announced for the trip to Ashton Gate you’d expect that Premier League quality to shine through, and for long spells of the first half it did.
Some exciting patterns of play enabled Wolves to create many a chance and the game should have been finished in the first half, meaning we could rest some of our key players for the trip to Newcastle on Wednesday.
Unfortunately Hwang was not at the races, a number of missed opportunities to go with conceding the free kick for Bristol City’s goal. When he cannot finish, you have to wonder what he brings to the side.
Interestingly Agbadou lined up on the left of the three centre backs, you’d assume he’d be shifted to the middle and/or right of that three when Toti is back.
Rodrigo Gomes and Ait-Nouri were particularly threatening from an advanced wing-back position.
There shouldn’t be too many changes to the XI on Wednesday, if any, but defensively Wolves are going to be tested all over the pitch and to get anything from the game we are going to need to be perfect.

A deserved win even though we made it harder for ourselves after being in complete control.
