Albion's search for a successor to Carlos Corberan is well into its third week - with the club conducting a far reaching search in a bid to appoint the right candidate.
In recent weeks, Eustace has been linked to the position and has been at the top of the bookies alongside other names from England and Europe.
On Friday morning, the Express & Star reported that former Young Boys boss Raphael Wicky and ex-Manchester United assistant boss Rene Hake had both been interviewed for the role.
Eustace, who previously managed Kidderminster Harriers before going on to impress at Birmingham City, was also someone linked with the role.
However, no formal approach has been made from Albion to the Ewood Park club. A compensation payment would have been required were Sutton Coldfield-based Eustace to swap Lancashire for the Black Country.
The former Stoke and Watford midfielder was asked about the links to Albion in his press conference ahead of Rovers' clash with Middlesbrough in the FA Cup.
He explained how he was happy in his current role - and wanted to build something at Ewood Park.
Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph, Eustace said: “It is not the first time this season that has happened.
"Obviously, the football club are doing very well at the moment and we are being linked with players coming here who are maybe ‘too good’ for us. Because we are doing well, that is happening.
"We are getting linked with players leaving. It is all part of the job really, I am very happy here at this football club. I said I wanted to come in and build something special.
"Up to now, we have done that and it is important in the second half of the season that we stay competitive, invest and keep building something special.”
