The annual event is once again staged at Wolverhampton Lawn Tennis & Squash club and brings 176 seasoned squash players from the region, and further afield, together.

The competition, running from 2pm Friday to Sunday, is aimed at squash players over the age of 35. Spectators are welcomed free of charge.

Having grown into a key fixture in the squash calendar, some victors could earn the opportunity to represent England for international honours.

Players across 14 age categories will feature in the Black Country event. They begin at over 35 for men, right up to over 75. On the women's side players from over 35 up to over 60 will compete.

Eight players from the Tettenhall-based home club, WLTSC, will compete across the age groups on the facility's six state-of-the-art courts.

Mike Harris, the club's head of squad and racketball, said: "We're thrilled to be hosting the Karakal Midlands Masters once again at WLTSC.

"This tournament not only showcases the talent of our own members, with eight players representing the club but also brings together competitors from across the UK, adding a unique dynamic to the matches.

"We believe in not only providing a platform for our players to showcase their skills but also in offering them the chance to elevate their game to new heights on the international stage, representing their home nation."
