Hednesford Town sign former Walsall, Coventry City and Sheffield United defender
Hednesford Town have added more experience to their ranks with the signing of former Walsall defender Chris Hussey.
The Pitmen brought in experienced goalkeeper Tony Breeden the day before from Spalding United, and have now added 36-year-old left-sided defender Hussey.
Hussey counts AFC Wimbledon, Coventry City, Sheffield United and Port Vale among the many clubs he played for in the Football League. He most recently played for Stratford Town.
Manager Gavin Hurren said: “I am ecstatic to bring Chris to the club.
"Not only is he a tremendous player with incredible quality, but he’s also an elite-level character.
"His ethos, personality, and core values align perfectly with what we are building here at the club.
"His willingness to both buy into, and help drive, the culture we are creating at Keys Park makes him a key part of the puzzle.
"I’ve known Chris personally for years, and his attitude, values, and drive will play a crucial role in how we move this club forward. I’m delighted.”
Goalkeeper Breeden, also 36, is one of the non-league game's most experienced shot-stoppers and has enjoyed stints in step one and two with Kidderminster Harriers, Leamington, Tamworth and Solihull Moors among others.
They could both make their debut when Hednesford travel to Wythenshawe Amateurs on Saturday.
