Experienced goalkeeper Tony Breeden has been tipped to help build a new culture at Hednesford Town after his move to Keys Park.

Breeden, 36, is one of the non-league game's most experienced shot-stoppers and has enjoyed stints in step one and two with Kidderminster Harriers, Leamington, Tamworth and Solihull Moors among others.

He has joined boss Gavin Hurren's ranks from Lincolnshire outfit Spalding United.

In-form Hednesford have forced their way into the Northern Premier West play-offs with a fine run of festive form and hope the addition of Breeden can strengthen their promotion aspirations.

Hurren believes the keeper can play a part in several departments. He said: "When his availability became clear I jumped at the chance to sign him as his wealth of experience as well as being an outstanding goalkeeper meant it was a no brainer.

"I have known Tony personally for years and his values and ethos are both the same as mine and what we are building here at the club.

Tony will help with the building of the culture we are looking to implement here which is an important part of the direction the club is going."

Hednesford have also been linked with former Walsall and Cheltenham defender Chris Hussey from Hurren's former side Stratford.

The Pitmen travel to third-bottom Wythenshawe on Saturday.
