Gibbs-White, who was a product of the Wolves academy, before departing for the City Ground in 2022 for £25m - has been a key figure in the rise into the top four.
The Forest skipper has netted four times and picked up three assists this season - with his latest strike coming in their 3-0 win over Wolves at Molineux on Monday evening.
The victory leaves Forest third in the Premier League table - level on points with Arsenal with some tipping Forest maintain their stunning form.
Gibbs-White has been key to that and his latest display was under the watchful eye of new England boss Thomas Tuchel, who is set to talk charge of his first game in March.
The 24-year-old midfielder, who picked up two senior international caps in 2024, was asked about his England chances after the game, along with Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher making a comparison to Jude Bellingham.
He said: "I didn't even know he (Thomas Tuchel) was here.
"I just want to focus on my club football and focus on my performances for Forest and doing well.
"I've done well so far, and I just want to maintain that and see what happens when March comes.
"It does give me a bit of a buzz and put a smile on my face so I am happy.
"It is always nice to be talked about with players like Jude (Bellingham). What a player he is.
"I just want to focus on club level at the minute and hopefully it comes."
Gibbs-White followed up his goal on Monday evening at Molineux by putting his fingers in his ears in front of the South Bank.
It came after the former Wolves man was the subject of boos and chants during the game.
After the game, Gibbs-White posted a picture of his celebration on Instagram with team mate Neco Williams taking a swipe at Wolves fans.
Commenting on the picture, the Welsh international said: "Quiet stadium after 7 mins.”
