Chasetown fell behind on 40 minutes when Ben Hodkinson delivered the breakthrough for hosts Bootle.

Joey Buckley scored a screamer to haul the Scholars level midway into the second half only for Sean Williams to restore Bootle's advantage 18 minutes from time.

Taylor salvaged a point in the dying stages when he fired home from Oli Haywood's throw to keep Chasetown in the final play-off spot.

Chasetown have also completed the signing of midfielder Tom Thorley from Stone Old Alleynians.

Stafford Rangers suffered a first home defeat in four games after falling to a 2-0 loss against relegation rivals Wythenshawe Town.

Domaine Rouse bagged a first half brace for Wythenshawe to help his side climb out of the relegation zone. That defeat leaves Rangers third from bottom and one-point adrift of safety.

Meanwhile, Sporting Khalsa came from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Long Eaton United as they ended their four-match losing run in the Division One Midlands.

Goals from James Shaw and Jamie Hanson propelled Long Eaton into a two-goal lead inside 39 minutes but Andre Landell kick started the comeback charge by halving the deficit just before the hour-mark.

Simeon Cobourne levelled for Khalsa just three minutes from time to reach double figures for the campaign.

Despite their recent run of defeats, Sporting still occupy the final play-off place on goals scored, although Darlaston Town can leapfrog them when they host Anstey Nomads this evening.

Elsewhere, Hednesford Town will face Solihull Moors in the third round of the Birmingham Senior Cup after beating Coleshill Town 3-1 at Keys Park.

Sion Spence broke the deadlock inside 13 minutes but Alex McSkeane restored parity for Coleshill five minutes after the restart.

Zidan Sutherland fired Hednesford ahead on 67 minutes and Spence bagged his brace with eight minutes left on the clock to secure their progression.
