The 59-year-old former professional footballer was seen grinning in the snap alongside the 33-year-old pop star in a snap on Instagram, which has now gained more than 2,000 likes.
In the caption, Steve wrote: "Great to meet this man today !! I’m sure his smile will be bigger than mine after today’s result, we were unlucky not to get a draw!! Let’s move onto the next one and keep faith!!"
Ed Sheeran is a fan of Ipswich Town FC, who won 2 - 1 against the Wolverhampton Wanderers yesterday afternoon. The 'Bad Habits' singer became a minority owner of the club in August 2024.
The pair were praised for their sportsmanship after the photo was posted online. One user said: "Classy of both. Great sportsmanship," while another wrote: "Legends….. Bully next time Ed needs a ride in JX."
