Stafford Rangers make it back-to-back wins after 3-0 victory against Mossley

Rangers boss Dale Belford believed his side were worthy winners as they beat seventh-placed Mossley 3-0.  

"Delighted for the lads," he said. "We have been working extremely hard behind the scenes, and there is a lot of effort going in collectively. 

"Mossley are a good side, they have good players, they are well managed, and well-coached - you can see that. 

"I thought we were worth winners today."

And Belford hailed the performance of Jimmy O'Neill - who scored twice during the victory - as Rangers registered back-to-back wins. 

“Jim is a great kid," he said. "I have got a lot of time for him, and he will give you everything wherever he plays.

“He is a handful up there and started his career up top in the National League for Telford.

“When we thought about it, we spoke to him, and he has delivered today.

“I am pleased for Jimmy because he has been a good servant to the club. 

“You look at the performance, and it was full of grit and determination. It’s great to keep a clean sheet, we are scoring goals at home too. It’s really tiny steps at the moment, we are going in the right direction and not getting carried away. 

“We enjoyed that and will move on.”

Elsewhere, Hednesford got back to winning ways after drawing at Avro in midweek. 

They won 3-1 at Atherton Collieries. Jake Jervis gave Hednesford the lead in the fourth minute, but Aaron Dwyer pulled the scores level for Atherton just before the hour mark. But goals from Dominic McHale and Daniel Trickett-Smith saw Hednesford get the victory they desired. They are sixth in the league table. 

Chasetown's three-match winning streak came to an end at Trafford as they were on the end of a stunning late comeback. 

Oli Hayward's goal in the 44th minute saw the visitors lead at the break, but Kanye Nisbett scored midway through the second half to level. 

It looked like Joseph Thompson had given Chasetown all three points when they re-took the lead 15 minutes from time. 

But Trafford struck twice in the closing stages to turn the fixture on its head - first through Rio Clegg and then Matty Lusakueno to secure the three points. 

In the Midlands division, two first-half goals from Will Jones and Danny Draper were enough for Wellingborough Town to get the better of Sporting Khalsa. While Lye needed an 86th-minute goal from Joe Palmer to earn a point in their clash with Long Eaton United. 

James Taylor had put the visitors ahead after 15 minutes, and it looked like that was going to be the way it would stay until Palmer struck four minutes from time.
