Emi Martinez 8
Did not have a lot to do all night but produced the save of the season with a one handed stop to deny Forest. Will be disappointed with the first goal, as he went to catch the ball and then dragged it in when he maybe could have parried it out.
Ezri Konsa 6
Suffered a difficult first half, and in the second Forest were getting a lot of joy down his side. He did go close with a header at the other end, but lost his man for the first goal.
Diego Carlos 5
Got away with the VAR disallowed goal as he lost Wood, but it was his bad pass which was one of many mistakes that led to the eventual winner.
Pau Torres 6
Quiet game for large parts. Produced a key block in the first half to deny Forest, but was slightly out of position for the first goal and could have defended it better.
Luca Digne 6
Was a good outlet in both halves down the left hand side, and had a hand in the Villa opener. He also got away with the VAR goal having lost his man.
Boubacar Kamara 6
Was dispossessed a handful of times in the first half and was overrun in certain periods with Forest breaking but all around it was a quiet evening for the midfielder.
Youri Tielemans 6
Had a quiet game throughout. Could put a stamp on it. Also got caught out of possession a few times, with Forest finding a lot of joy on the break in the second period.
Morgan Rogers 6
Won't go down as one of his more memorable games. Worked well down the right with Cash in the first half, and had a strong penalty claim turned down but faded in the second half.
few loose passes in the final third, good work down the right linking with cash, had a strong claim for a penalty
John McGinn 7
A quiet first half by the captain's standards but stepped up in the second half. Very busy and it was his cross that found Duran for the goal.
Matty Cash 5
Was lively in the first half and got into a number of good positions but really got caught for the goal. Gave away possession and then failed to meet a loose pass, with Forest going on to score.
Jhon Duran 7
Looked a bit off the pace early doors but struggled with a lack of decent supply in a dull first period. In the second he came more into the game and produced such a smart header to give his side the lead.
Substitutes
74 - Amadou Onana for Tielemans 5 - No impact on the game.
74 - Ollie Watkins for Duran 5 - Didn't put his stamp on it and it was his loose pass that started off Forest's break for the winner.
