A rejuvenated Grant underlined his recovery at The Hawthorns this season with a wonderful second goal in the 2-0 victory against Coventry City on Wednesday night to wrap up the three points for Corberan's side.

Grant, who was farmed out on loan to Cardiff last season, charged past three defenders and converted an unerring finish for his fifth goal of the season. His name was once again chanted by Baggies supporters.

Head coach Corberan admitted he could not find a single thing wrong with Grant's game this season after the Baggies secured just a second win in 12 games - though 10 of those are draws in an unbeaten period.

"Not only for the goal. He is making an unbelievable job for the team," said Corberan. The other day - there was one action in the minute 53 against Sheffield, we lost the ball in the left with Styles and Johnston and as a striker he made a recovery run and finished as a left-back.

"When I see this I feel proud to see this commitment and when this commitment has the reward of the goal even more because he has been one of the key players this season for us.

"He is doing this type of action regularly. He is dribbling players, driving forward, making runs, I cannot tell you something he is not doing in general this season.

"The only thing he needs to do is keep working hard to keep this standard because it is very, very high."

Grant stepped up in the closing stages against the Sky Blues - when the visitors were on top and pushing for an equaliser - to deliver the key second goal after striker and top scorer Josh Maja had been withdrawn at half-time.

Corberan confirmed Maja was feeling tiredness and he wanted his replacement John Swift to act as another body deeper in the midfield.

Swift was busy and the head coach added:  "He was very proactive, in some actions maybe didn't find his normal level of accuracy, that is normal when you haven't played enough minutes in a long time."

Corberan added on the win, which took Albion back into the top six: "The result of course is an important result for us. It’s true we managed well some moments of the game and didn’t manage as well other moments in the game. We created opportunities but at the same time we conceded opportunities too. Fortunately they couldn’t score and we scored two goals that give us our important three points.

"It’s especially for them because all our effort that we are doing are not coming with results. We know for us and for them the results in football are very important but we are not going to stop to find excuses, we are always going to responsibilities to see the ways we can improve the team to give what this club deserves."

Corberan confirmed Kyle Bartley was rested from the off before his arrival as a late substitute and attacker Grady Diangana was not well enough to feature in the matchday squad, as hoped.

Diangana felt more pain in his calf in training on Tuesday and could not feature. Corberan admitted to the "frustration" at an issue that is not showing as a serious injury on scans.
