Jellis, 23, is enjoying a breakthrough season with the Saddlers, who return to League Two action tonight against Notts County as second meets fifth at Bescot Stadium.

Former non-league star Jellis - who joined the Saddlers in January from FA Cup heroes Tamworth - will not feature against the Magpies after feeling discomfort in his calf during Saturday's FA Cup defeat to Charlton.

Last week the midfielder was linked with interest from unnamed League One and Championship club as he makes eye-catching progress with Sadler's high-flyers. Jellis has five goals in 24 outings this term and four of his goals arrived in a recent seven-game purple patch.

Asked if the club will be keen to keep hold of Jellis after his fines tart to season, head coach Sadler replied: “Yes, we will.”

Jellis, who is under contract until the end of the season, had to bide his time in the second half of last season after struggling with injury following his move from The Lamb.

“Luckily we have got a good squad," Sadler added. "With Jamie, we will get him back, and we will go again with the squad that we have got.”
