Durrant is a regular for the England team and was a part of the side that won the WDF World Cup last October,

Now the BDO No 1 contests this event with Kyle Anderson, the Nottingham-based thrower who represented Australia with Simon Whitlock at the PDC's World Cup a month ago.

The two will take centre stage at the Cleveland Arms Sports Bar, on Stowheath Lane, in Wolverhampton on Thursday July 14.

The man from down under, aged 28, is a formidable opponent and racked a world record average of an incredible 134.84 last year.

It came in a non-televised Players Championship clash against Terry Jenkins, where he used just 77 darts to prevail 6-1. He's featured at the last four World Championships, too.

Middlesbrough's Durrant, 45, reached the equivalent semi-final at Lakeside in January, losing to eventual title winner Scott Waites 5-4 after squandering a 4-2 in sets and 2-0 legs lead.

The reigning World Masters champion has rebounded to win tthree ranking titles since, including last weekend's Gold Cup, and has gone back to his roots to keep himself sharp.

He said: "I do an hour every day, without fail. I love that time in my darts room, where it's just the board and me.

"When I'm approaching big tournaments, I'll step that up to three or four hours a day. I'll go down the local club and play against the Super League team and the locals.

"I'd been lacking a bit of sharpness in recent weeks, but I went back and played in my local darts league the other week and I really enjoyed it.

"It's cut-throat darts in the local leagues, where you have to be sharp throughout and start well. I like the social side of it and that's why I love doing these exhibitions as well.

"Kyle is a great darts player and a genuinely great guy, so I'm sure it's going to be an enjoyable night in Wolverhampton.

"The Cleveland Arms is a brilliant place and it's such a special venue for events like this. We're all in for a great night."

Standard entry is just £5 and can be purchased at the venue, by calling 01902 451 021 or online at www.clevelandarms.com or www.sportstalkevents.co.uk. You can also pay on the door.

VIP tickets cost £20 include priority seating, buffet, a professional signed picture and a meet and greet with both players. That starts from 6pm, with general passes from 7pm for an 8pm start.
