Defence show their mettle for Sandwell Steelers
Sandwell Steelers' defence took the plaudits as Jay Alexander's side climbed to the top of the Midland Football Conference division one table.

A 14-0 success on the road at Ouse Valley Eagles made it five wins from six games this season for the Steelers as they eye back-to-back titles.
And it was the defence that provided the platform for victory with another impressive show.
Head coach Alexander has seen his men ship just one touchdown in their last three games. That form comes at a time when the offence is struggling to make an impact.
Alexander opted to put his trust in his running backs in a bid to pose more of an attacking threat, but any hopes quarterback Jonny Glover and his offence had of making progress were continually checked by a series of penalties that saw Sandwell marched back by the officials.
But despite their ill-discipline The Steelers were able to find their way into the end zone during the first half.
Strong running from Dwain Houghton saw the elusive back score his first touchdown of the season from short yardage.

Running-back Leigh French also found the end zone but the play was ruled out for a holding offence.
The second half started with the Eagles having a score ruled out for a penalty against their offensive line
Sandwell's special teams and defence continued to apply pressure on the Eagles and turned the ball over with yet another interception handing the ball back to their offense on Ouse Valley's 14-yard line.
That brough Steelers their second score with French taking advantage of some text book blocking from his running back partner Dan James to bag his first touchdown of the season.
Kicker Greg Freeman added what proved to be the last point of the game to make it 14-0.
The Steelers now stand alone at the top of the division having played more game than their closest rivals The Nottingham Caesers, who they host in their final game of the season.
Alexander's side now head into an extended break before they return to action at the Birmingham Bulls on June 19.
