Conceding 254 points start, the Police couldn't make any inroads and went into the last frame with EliottBastable143 points behind after Martin Ball, Steve Ball and Geoff Foster had restricted their opponents to significant effect.
Amblecote RBL's A team couldn't take advantage of their 259-point start at Hotshots SC A.
Neil Beckley, with a break of 67, won by 97 points to give the home side a great start, but Barry Young gave the Legion hope by holding Roy Stokes to 22. Hotshots retrieved the deficit and Milan Krstanovic took the match on the pink.
Premier Division champions, and current leaders, Norton Social A had to pull back 352 points at Stourbridge Institute C.
But they had a perfect start with Andy Smith winning by 112 and Rob Pitt, with a 64 break, by 117, as they ran out winners by 44 points.
Steve Spruce won narrowly for Kinver Const D at home to Kingswinford Cons B, but Steve Small, Dave Reece and Tony Davies all triumphed decisively to retrieve all bar eight points before Andy Brown clinched the match on the pink. This was the Cons' only success as their other three teams crashed out.
Sam Porter gave their C team a great start at home to Stourbridge Inst B, but Harry Jones and Tommy Hamilton helped the Institute to a 43-point win.
The D team were given a boost by Simon Spittle, but good wins by Amblecote Inst D's Mark Robson, Jordan Taylor and Sajid Latif saw their team home.
Cons A were dealt a blow when the in-form Thomas Male saw his opponent, former professional Lee Page, bag an 89 break on the tables of Pockets SC B. Jamie Shuck then won by 41 points to give Pockets an unassailable lead.
Pockets' A team, receiving 70 points start at Brandhall Labour, still had their lead intact after the first two frames, when John Betton had a narrow win and Gareth Ward held Jason Hickman to 16 points.
But Brandhall fought back with Rob Howen beating talented 15-year-old Taylor Fish by 28 and Alan Hooper edging out the promising Mac Gunn by 16, reducing the deficit to 27. Darren Oakes completed the recovery by defeating Tom Pepperall in the finale.
