Nearly 2,500 feel the noise in Stafford

Nearly 2,500 spectators flocked to Stafford's County Showground for an enduro spectacular.

The usual genteel clop of hooves at the venue was replaced by horsepower of a noisier variety.

The indoor event, organised by Lichfield-based sports promoter and four-time world champion Paul Edmondson, attracted an international entry of top riders with nearly 100 entrants in the saddle.

Poland's Taddy Blazusiak headlined the show alongside the youthful but hugely-talented Cumbrian Jonny Walker and hard-charging Manxman David Knight.

And it was Walker, a KTM Red Bull factory rider, who took the honours around a Showground course sculpted from sand and littered with rocks, logs and huge jumps.

He claimed two solid wins out of three Pro class races to round off an impressive season. Knight took second with Blazusiak third.

The Midlands was represented by a large number of competitors, Jack Edmondson shining in the Pro class with brother Harry flying around the course in the Youth section.
