Rugeley's Mark Hylton popped into a Wolverhampton pub to win a leg against 15-time world champion Phil Taylor - and then donated it to charity.

Hylton is knocking on the door of the top 32 and was a surprise entrant in an open competition at Rileys Sports Bar, Broad Street, on Saturday.

The prize was to play 'the Power' when the darts legend comes to the venue he opened in 2009 for an exhibition on Bank Holiday Monday night.

But world No 33 Hylton instead told management to auction off the leg on the night, with the proceeds to go to Compton Hospice.

'Mile High' - a former airline cabin crew manager - had looked every inch the professional in beating Jason Hough 5-1 in the final.

Hylton scored an 11-dart leg to make it 2-0 early on and hit three 180s during the match, in a great show for the punters watching.

Tickets to meet Taylor next week are just £5, the same as his exhibition last year, are still available.

They can be purchased from the club or by calling 01902 310 521.
