Wolverhampton's Wayne Jones today went out at the first hurdle in the first game of the PDC's Austrian Open at the Arena Nova.

Jones was eliminated 6-3 in a shock defeat to Dutchman Gino Vos, who had to come through two games just to qualify for the tournament.

Vos earned his spot in the host nation's qualifier last month and has now gone one better with a win over the world No 14 in Wiener Neustadt.

Meanwhile, 'the Wanderer' was heading home today but will back in action for the next floor events, the UK Open qualifiers in Birmingham.

Next weekend's two-day schedule at the National Indoor Arena will decide places for the tournament, the first televised this year, in June.
