First pro semi-final for Mark Jones

Brierley Hill's Mark Jones reached his first professional semi-final in the UK Open qualifiers in Barnsley.

Jones narrowly missed out on a final with Phil Taylor after a 6-4 defeat to Brendan Dolan on Saturday, who later lost to 'the Power.'

Dutch pair Jelle Klaasen and Vincent van der Voort both lost to Jones on route, who also reached the third round yesterday.

Wolverhampton's Wayne Jones joined him in a third round exit yesterday, losing 6-0 to semi-finalist Dennis Priestley.

'The Wanderer' went out in the first round on Saturday, losing 6-2 to Darren Webster. Taylor won both events.
