Wolverhampton's Wayne Jones will open the Grand Slam of Darts in his home city on Saturday when he takes part in the first match of the £400,000 tournament.

Jones, reached the semi-finals a year ago, will take on World Grand Prix runner-up Brendan Dolan in the tournament's opening game.

'The Wanderer' will be looking for revenge, after Dolan beat him in the first match of the Grand Prix in Dublin last month.

The 32-player Grand Slam begins at 8pm on Saturday at Wolverhampton Civic Hall, with eight group matches from Groups A-D.

In each four-man group, the losers will then play each other and the winners will play each other on Sunday evening.

The outstanding group game will then take place on Tuesday night, before the second round on Thursday.
