Watkinson's English title test
Cannock kickboxer Aaron Watkinson will face his biggest test yet in Walsall later this month as his bid to become the English super welterweight champion reaches a conclusion.
The 29-year-old will vie for the International Sport Kickboxing Association (ISKA) title against Danny Price at the Town Hall on November 28, after defeating Adam Myrie in an eliminator earlier this year to propel him into contention.
Now he will get the chance to win a national title inside 10 fights, having won eight - four of those by stoppage - and lost one so far.
The Black Country kicker fights out of Team Supreme's mixed martial arts gym on Wolverhampton Road in his hometown, and has been training with Walsall's Ultimate Fighting Championship competitor Paul 'Relentless' Taylor to get him ready for the big night.
And Watkinson feels ready to rumble.
He said: "To be honest with you, I have been feeling for a while that I should be fighting for the English title. It's time to go for it, I feel experienced enough but I know this will be my biggest test yet. If I can win the title it would mean the world to me.
"I feel ready and will be looking to bring that belt back to our gym."
