The Warlords are a developmental club aiming to attract newcomers to the sport and to get previously inactive people involved.

The Bulldogs, on the other side, are a well established side and were in fourth place in the RL Merit League going into the match.

They were the 12th side to play the Warlords since their inception in late 2006. Wolverhampton Warlords won 32-22, to secure their first success.

Warlords Founder Richard Lord said: "Whilst most of these lads have only played a handful of games, there is a great deal of intelligence in how they play."

Despite defeat, the Bulldogs stay in fourth place in the league table. The Warlords moved up into the top half to 8th out of 18th.

Birmingham's next game is away at North Derbyshire Chargers on June 28. Wolverhampton Warlords host Chester Gladiators on the same day.
