‘I would’ve liked to have stayed’ – Daley Thompson leaves Celebrity Big Brother
Thompson faced the public vote after receiving four nominations.

Olympian Daley Thompson has become the third contestant to be evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house saying he “would’ve liked to have stayed longer”.
As the 66-year-old two-time decathlon gold medallist left the ITV reality show, he told his fellow housemates his time on the show had “been a blast” adding he would see them “at the wrap-up party”.
Asked how he was feeling by presenters AJ Odudu and Will Best, Thompson said: “I’m very well. Honestly it is fantastic in there, honestly if you get a chance you should spend a couple of weeks in there.”
Speaking about his time in the house, Thompson continued: “I would’ve liked to have stayed longer, but I was quite happy to come out, because the problem with it is, that no matter what goes on in there, it’s you lot out here.
“They’ve (the audience) been incredible, I couldn’t believe all the cheering.
“I didn’t have high hopes for them in there (his fellow contestants), but they have been funny, they have been just revealing they are great people.”
Thompson faced the public vote after receiving four nominations, from former CBBC presenter Angellica Bell, ITV racing presenter and former Love Island star Chris Hughes, actress and comedian Donna Preston and EastEnders star Patsy Palmer in Thursday’s episode.
Those who nominated him raised questions about the amount of housework he was doing, and accused him of not being willing to do the washing up.
Asked whether he was surprised by their nominations, Thompson joked: “No, none of them surprised me, because they’re all rats.”
Thompson shot to fame when he set a then-world record in the decathlon at the 1984 Los Angeles games and won the BBC Sports Personality prize that same year.
Before the show’s conclusion, Thompson was asked what his favourite moment in the house was, to which he replied: “It wasn’t one thing, but it was actually just after three or four days, it’s easier to get to know people because they relax a bit, and everybody in there actually are really nice people.
“It’s just that some want to win a bit more than others.”
Elsewhere in the episode, the housemates were challenged to dress up as cats and complete feline tasks to win prizes, with Big Brother telling them they must eat and drink like cats.
Hughes and former Dance Moms star and singer JoJo Siwa had to be reminded they could use the normal toilet by Big Brother, after they urinated in a human sized cat litter tray, and then used their hands to cover it up.
Hughes was the first to use the litter tray telling Siwa: “Can you block the door and I’ll have a little wee, don’t tell anyone I’ve wee’d though, but wait a minute, because you’re giving me stage fright.”
Thompson’s eviction comes after TV presenter Trisha Goddard left during Tuesday’s show, and Sir Michael Fabricant, a former Tory MP, left in the show’s first eviction.
Hollywood star Mickey Rourke also left after he agreed to go following “further use of inappropriate language” and “instances of unacceptable behaviour”.
Celebrity Big Brother returns on Sunday at 10pm on ITV and ITVX.
