'Happy birthday to the water leak on the A458' - Your Letters: May 6

PICTURE FROM THE ARCHIVE: Hednesford VE Day May 1945 on Wrights Avenue as locals got together for a huge celebration, with tablecloth-covered trestle tables and plenty of treats on offer. It is thought this picture was taken a few days after the end of the war in Europe, probably on a weekend.

WHEN WILL LEAK BE SORTED OUT?

Do your readers like birthday celebrations? How about saying "happy birthday" to the water leak on the A458 approaching the Stewpony traffic lights from Wollaston. It has the heavy duty orange fencing around it and has been there for at least one year. Neither Severn Trent nor South Staffs Water seem to want to take responsibility for it's repair. I have tried.

You could also play guess how many litres of water has escaped over that period!

Not your thing? OK - drive on to Claverley where you can play "Swerve or Straddle" - a game of skill where you try to avoid the 12 or so potholes between the church and primary school without wrecking your wheels or suspension. Be quick though. Someone has marked them for repair. Mind you, one of the people living opposite a big one, did tell me that they had been marked before and none had been filled in.
