And no doubt there will be thousands of parents scratching their heads trying to understand the new grading system for certain subjects.

The main thing to remember is not to panic.

If your results are not as good as you hoped then it really is not the end of the world.

Schools and colleges today offer a variety of courses providing a wide range of opportunities.

And there is also the chance to retake subjects if that is what you want to do.

If you have the right attitude and are willing to work hard then you will make a success of yourself.

Qualifications are important but at 15 or 16 years old you still have the world at your feet.

Determination and a desire to learn will always serve you well.

It is inevitable to feel disappointed if you haven't got the grades you wanted.

But the hurt will not last forever.

It is time to pick yourself up and make the most of the opportunities you have.
