Police attend incident at Bescot Stadium in Walsall - trains not stopping and man arrested for attempted murder
A police incident is underway at Bescot Stadium in Walsall this morning (Monday, October 21) - rail passengers warned no trains are stopping at station following an attempted murder.

West Midlands Police are working with British Transport Police to deal with a serious assault at Bescot Stadium in Walsall this morning.
A man, aged 18, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and was taken into police custody.
Paramedics also attended and took a woman to hospital with life threatening injuries.
Spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 11.28pm last night (Sunday 20th October) to reports of an assault at Bescot Stadium Railway Station, Walsall. An ambulance, paramedic officer, MERIT trauma team and HART paramedics attended. The team arrived to find a woman in a serious condition. She received trauma care on scene before being conveyed on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further emergency care."
Trains are not stopping at the station. Road transport has been ordered to take passengers between Tame Bridge, Bescot and Walsall.
Officers are currently on the scene. Detective Chief Inspector Paul Attwell from British Transport Police said: “Enquiries into this incident are ongoing and passengers will see an increased police presence in the area as a result. The station will also remain closed. I urge any witnesses or anyone with information to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 11 of 21 October.
