The white van and grey Land Rover were both seriously damaged in a crash on Chase Road, Brownhills, at around 2pm.

West Midlands Fire Service crews were called to the scene and confirmed no one was injured.

Writing to Facebook just after 3pm, Aldridge Fire Station said: "We have just attended a road traffic collision at the junction of Chase Road and Lichfield Road involving a van and a car.

"Thankfully, no one was injured. One lane remains blocked, but traffic is still moving through. Please approach the area with caution."

A photo taken at the scene showed damage to the front of the van as well as severe damage to the side and rear of the car.

National Express West Midlands warned passengers of an "emergency incident" on Chase Road just before 2.20pm on Monday.

It said service number 8 – which runs between Walsall and Lichfield – had been disrupted.

Writing to X, formerly Twitter, the regional bus company said the service to Lichfield had diverted via Hanney Hay Road and Watling Street.

In an update just before 4pm, it said the incident had cleared with services following a normal line of route.
