Broken-down train between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton causes hours of disruption
Rail passengers travelling between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton have faced hours of disruption to their journeys due to a broken-down freight train on the line.

West Midlands Railway first alerted passengers of the issue at about 3.30pm on Tuesday.
Writing to X, formerly Twitter, it said a broken-down train had blocked the line between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton.
It added that services running through these stations, which include Wellington and Telford Central, may be delayed or cancelled.
National Rail initially warned the disruption could last until 5.30pm, but later said it was expected to last until 8.30pm.
Staff are said to be working to remove the broken down train.
Rail replacement transport is in operation between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton.
Transport for Wales services between Aberystwyth/Holyhead/Llandudno and Birmingham International have also been disrupted.
Passengers travelling with Transport for Wales can use Avanti West Coast services between Crewe and Birmingham International and London Northwestern Railway services between Crewe and Birmingham International.
