Three people including child checked over by paramedics after three-vehicle crash on M5

The collision on Friday morning forced two of three lanes to close on the M5 in Worcestershire, between Junction 4a for the M52 and Junction 5 near Bromsgrove.

Ambulance crews rushed to the scene at about 7.25am where they found three vehicles had been involved in a crash.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "An ambulance and paramedic officer were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews found three vehicles had been involved in a collision.

"Three patients were assessed – a man, a woman and a female child – but none of them required further treatment and were discharged at the scene."

At about 9am, National Highways said there were 90 minute delays on approach to the crash, with six miles of congestion reported.

Writing to X, formerly Twitter, it said recovery crews were still on the way to the scene and were making their way through the heavy traffic.

All lanes were reopened on the motorway shortly before 11am, though motorists were warned of residual delays of around 60 minutes.
