Trains between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton cancelled after landslip at Oakengates
Train services through Telford are cancelled after a landslip blocked the tracks at Oakengates.
All services between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton are off, and West Midlands Railway said services are likely to be disrupted until the end of the day.
A statement said: "A landslip in the Oakengates area means all lines are blocked. As a result, trains running between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton will be cancelled or revised.
"Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
"Rail replacement buses are operating between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton.
"These will depart hourly at the following times:
"From Shrewsbury at XX.00, except the last service will depart at 22.40.
"From Wolverhampton at XX.04, with the last service departing at 23.04."
A spokesperson from Network Rail said: “We’re sorry to passengers affected by ongoing disruption between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton due to a landslip west of Oakengates station in Telford which occurred this morning. For safety reasons our engineers have closed the railway in both directions while assessments take place to understand the scale of repairs needed.
“We’ll keep passengers informed about this incident and urge people to check nationalrail.co.uk and with their train operator for the latest travel advice.”
