Three sets of temporary traffic lights within less than a mile of each other have caused disruption in Wolverhampton over the last few days.

Drivers have faced disruption this week around Tettenhall and Compton, with lights in place in the centre of Compton, on Lower Street, Tettenhall, and Aldersley Road at the same time. Lights have now gone from Compton.

With traffic levels getting back towards normal levels in the city, it has meant long delays at peak times on Bridgnorth Road and Henwood Road over recent days.

The lights were moved from Compton, near the Oddfellows pub, on Thursday following water works and Aldersley Road is set to be clear by Tuesday.

But disruption is set to continue on Lower Street, at the junction with Aldersley Road, until July 21.

Councils and utility companies took advantage of quieter roads during lockdown to get works done but the easing of lockdown means traffic is once again building up in Wolverhampton.
