Passengers hit by train delays in Black Country after points failure

Passengers and commuters faced disruption to their journeys after a points failure caused delays on trains in the Black Country.

The problems affected services between Wolverhampton and Sandwell & Dudley stations and onwards to Birmingham New Street.

Train operator Virgin tweeted to say that south-bound lines are blocked to the problems.

Services face up to 30 minute delays.

London Midland also advised passengers of potential delays through Wolverhampton station.

Tickets are being accepted on the Midland Metro and buses between Wolverhampton and Birmingham.

Cross Country will accept tickets between Crewe and Birmingham.

Train passenger Beverley Momen was among those facing the delays this morning.

There have been delays to Virgin Trains for Euston. The 06:50 ,07:10 and 07:30 were delayed.

Meanwhile Stourbridge Shuttle services were suspended after a broken train blocked the line.

The Shuttle serves Stourbridge Town and Junction stations.
