Commuters hit by Black Country train delays

Rail commuters were facing delays today after problems on the tracks in the Black Country.

Signalling problems in Walsall were causing delays of up to 30 minutes on London Midland services between Rugeley Trent Valley and Birmingham New Street – with some being cancelled at short notice from 8.15am.

Signalling problems near Smethwick Rolfe Street was causing delays of up to 20 minutes to journeys between Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street from from 7.50am.

It follows vandalism on the line near Tame Bridge Parkway.
