'Privilege' to become Tory Party chair, says Staffordshire MP
Staffordshire MP Amanda Milling said it is a "privilege" to have been appointed Chair of the Conservative Party.
The MP for Cannock Chase was given the role as part of Boris Johnson's reshuffle which sees her join the Cabinet as Minister without Portfolio, alongside Staffordshire colleague Gavin Williamson.
Ms Milling has been rewarded for her loyalty to the Prime Minister over recent years. She is a long-time backer of Mr Johnson as was part of a small group who helped plot his ill-fated 2016 leadership campaign.
She said: “It is a privilege to have been appointed by the Prime Minister to be chair of the Conservative Party.
“I look forward to working with our members, staff and activists across the country and welcome the opportunity to champion the Conservative Party and help deliver on the people’s priorities, like investing in our NHS, boosting police numbers and cutting the cost of living.
“Ahead of local elections in Cannock Chase this year I will continue to be a strong voice for the constituency, supporting local communities, campaigning for new opportunities for families and businesses, and helping my constituents.”
