Singer unveils latest Porsche 911-based creation
Reworked model uses a flat-six engine tuned by Cosworth.

Singer has created a new, reworked version of a classic Porsche 911.
The California-based firm is a specialist in fine-tuning classic Porsche models while bringing many of their components up to modern-car standards.
The new 911 Carrera Coupe Reimagined by Singer starts off as a 964-generation 911, which was made between 1989 and 1994. From there, the starter vehicle is disassembled with the interior removed and the steel chassis then ‘assessed, cleaned and prepared’ with additional strengthening added with help from Red Bull Advanced Technologies.

The flat-six engine of the 964 is also extensively reworked by specialists Cosworth, which gives the powerplant ‘careful optimisation’ and a revised cylinder head. After a number of tweaks, the engine kicks out close to 420bhp, while a six-speed manual gearbox gives drivers the best possible control over the setup. A titanium exhaust ensures a suitably characterful soundtrack.
Rob Dickinson, Singer’s founder, executive chairman and creative director, said:
“In the 1980’s you could order a new 911 Carrera with the pumped-up bodywork of the Turbo but powered by the company’s latest, naturally aspirated flat six. It became known as the Carrera with Super Sport Equipment.

“Our services reference this car and celebrate the era with a vision for an ultimate, naturally aspirated, G model 911, reimagined for the twenty-first century. At its heart is a remarkable flat-six, bringing together our learnings from the last fifteen years, and adding variable valve timing for the first time.”
The car’s suspension is also completely overhauled to provide the best-possible handling, with new four-way adjustable dampers with electronic damper control equipped as standard. There’s also the option to include a nose lift system to help navigate speed bumps.
Inside, all of the 911’s instruments are revised with hand-built gauges following the layout of the original versions. Compact navigation systems and a phone connectivity setup are also included.
