In 2024, thousands of cars were stolen in the West Midlands with brands like Ford taking the top spot and Land Rover remaining high on the list.

New PCC figures, published today (April 1), show that the amount of cars stolen last year – almost 3,000 - has slightly reduced since 2023.

Thieves are increasingly turning their attention to Toyota, BMW, Jaguar and Nissan, all of which have seen an increase in the numbers stolen in the last twelve months.

However, Land Rovers remain one of the most significant targets for thieves, with 32 per 1,000 registered vehicles stolen – but there has also been a 31 per cent decline in thefts.
