Vauxhall has added its sporty GS trim level to its Vivaro van range – which will be available in both combustion and electric variants.

The Vivaro GS will differentiate from the standard van due to its front road lip spoiler, side skirts, front mudguards, a piano black rear spoiler, a redesigned rear bumper, exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels and GS badging. On the inside, the sportier GS theme continues with eco-leather seats which have GS embossed logos and red stitching.

This new variant will be available as a Panel van or Double Cab with two colour variants –  Quartz silver and Mercury grey – on offer.

Powering the van will be the option of two diesel powertrains or an electric variant. The former is a 2.0-litre turbocharged unit with two power outputs of either a 143bhp with a six-speed manual gearbox or a more powerful 177bhp with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The electric model comes equipped with a 75kWh battery pack and electric motor that generates 134bhp, with Vauxhall claiming it can achieve up to 209 miles on a single charge.

Prices start at £39,990 excluding VAT. (Vauxhall)

Standard equipment is also very generous with all Vivaro GS models coming fitted with a 10-inch infotainment screen, keyless entry and start, dual-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a wireless smartphone charger.

The Vivaro GS is on sale now with prices starting at £39,990 excluding VAT and rises to £52,890 excluding VAT.
