WATCH: Flames burst through pavement in Stourport
Pedestrians were left stunned and frightened after flames were seen bursting from the ground in Stourpourt.
A video shows flames pouring out of the ground on Lombard Street, outside clothing store M&Co.
One business owner called for help and tried to alert those inside M&Co.
Laura Westwood, 31, from Bewdley, who owns Image Hair and Beauty in Lombard Street and shared the video online, said: "It was eight o'clock this morning, myself and Jonathan from The Lodge were the only one's in the street.
"It was just smoking, as we were on the phone to 101 you could see a burst with flames.
"The fire service shut the street – it's in between Image and Hair Beauty and M&Co.
"Western Power are here now and they reckon it was an electrical fault.
"Pretty much the whole of Stourport is out.
"It's the busiest time of year so it's probably one of the worst things that could happen."
