The collision took place near to the junction of Manor Road and Penn Road on Thursday morning.

Ambulance crews rushed to the scene at about 9.19am where they found a woman hurt.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "On arrival we discovered one patient, a woman, who was the pedestrian.

"She was treated for serious injuries, not believed to be life-threatening, before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham."

Slow moving traffic has been reported on Penn Road as a result of the crash.

Bus services meanwhile have faced diversion, including the National Express West Midlands service number 15, which runs between Wolverhampton and Merry Hill.

The number 16 service – which travels between Wolverhampton and Stourbridge – has also been disrupted.

Both services have diverted via Coalway Road and Warstones Road.
