Lorry hits railway bridge in Compton
Motorists faced delays after a lorry crashed into a bridge.
The HGV hit the bridge in Compton, Wolverhampton around 1.20pm today.
One eyewitness said the lorry hit a tree and caused 'destruction'.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said the force was called to Compton Road West at the junction with Finchfield Hill at 1.19pm to 'a lorry trapped under a railway bridge'.
The vehicle managed to reverse out and was escorted back to its depot.
An investigation into any damage to the bridge will be carried out in due course.
