Chopstix, which has more than 100 noodle restaurants across the country, has been granted planning permission to open a new branch at the former Starbucks in Dudley Street, Wolverhampton.

The unit, next to the entrance to the Mander Centre, has been empty since the coffee-bar chain closed its branch in 2019.

It will be the chain's third noodle bar in the West Midlands, with branches already in Birmingham and at the Merry Hill centre.

The city centre has seen a growing number of casual-dining restaurants in recent years, with Lupo Lounge also opening in Dudley Street, and German Doner Kebab and Burger & Sauce opening in adjoining Queen Street.

Starbucks has since opened another branch in Dudley Street.
