Wolverhampton Council has instructed the contractor which resurfaced Broad Lane in Bradmore after a councillor berated the workmanship.

Councillor Wendy Dalton, whose Merry Hill ward covers the area, said the pavement had been left in an appalling state following the work.

Councillor Dalton said the pavement outside a shopping parade opposite Bantock Park had been resurfaced the weekend before last after it had fallen into a state of disrepair.

But she said the contractor failed to seal off the area while the tar was still wet, and people had walked over it and ridden bikes across it, leaving it covered in imprints.
