Getting the 11am urge for a snack is something everyone has battled with during the working-week and the choices are vast for how you want to fill said urge, and a sausage roll is always on the menu for most when taking a quick break from the daily grind.

One of the region's favourites - Greggs - was pumping them out at 85p a pop back in 2016, making it a solid choice for a sneaky treat without breaking the bank.

But fast-forward nine years and that price has almost doubled, leaving many to question if it's really worth the price - especially with so many other options across the city of Wolverhampton.

And since there are more options than Greggs, we've spoken to a few to see what they knock their rolls out at to try and work out which is the best option for a sausage-filled goodie.

Whether it's Pound Bakery or an independent, here's a few options - including he city's cheapest and one that is slightly more expensive but in the shop's opinion is well worth the extra 15p.

Pound Bakery

Starting with the cheapest hot-food seller, Pound Bakery has been tucked in the city centre for just over a decade, and you can grab a freshly made hot sausage roll for £1.

The shop's manager, Nicola Taylor, 43, said it's a 'pleasure' to be able to provide sausage rolls at a price that she feels is better for the pockets of the customers.

She said: "I think the Greggs price increase is not worth it, not good value for money. We sell ours for £1 and that's what we focus on.
