Wolverhampton Council has issued a notice to inform motorists in the city that road closures are set to be put in place for carriageway resurfacing works across various parts of the city over the next three months.

The council said: "Notice is hereby given that Wolverhampton Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, temporarily prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on the stretches of road detailed below.

"The Order may operate for a maximum period of 18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken between the times and on the days stipulated."

The work will begin on Ashland Street in the Merridale area, closing the road in both directions from its junction with Great Brikkiln Street to its junction with Pelham Street, with the closures running between 9.30am and 3pm from October 5 to October 9.
