Lyn Head, from Dudley, received the news of her award in the New Year and King's Birthday Honours List.

Sharing about how it felt to be nominated for the award and to win, she said: "It is still unbelievable that I have been recognised for the award, and I'm still not sure who nominated me.

"As part of the celebration I attended a garden party at Buckingham Palace on the week of the King's Coronation, and it really did make me feel proud to be British.

"I will be receiving my award on November 17, and it will be presented to me at Dudley Canal and Caverns, which is where I volunteer, at the Chit Chat group.
