Residents in a Wolverhampton neighbourhood have shared their shock after a 16-year-old was stabbed to death.

The teenager was found with stab wounds in Warnford Walk, Wolverhampton on Monday at 4.30pm.Three men have been arrested, two on suspicion of murder and one on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Police have cordoned off a large area of the Merry Hill area, and some residents have not been able to leave the area in their vehicles due to the police cordon.

The roads cordoned off by police include Fareham Crescent, Hamble Road, Lulworth Walk, and Strathfield Walk.

One resident who lives in the area but wanted to remain anonymous said: "We have been told that we cannot drive out of the area, and you can tell something very serious has gone on just by seeing the faces of the police officers.

"A helicopter arrived to the scene right outside my flat and paramedics rushed out to the scene.

"Police have told us to stay in our homes and so all of us in the area are virtually blocked in.

"I have lived in Wolverhampton for seven years. First I lived in Heath Town but I witnessed a stabbing there and so I moved to this area as it is supposed to be a lot quieter but now this has happened.

"It is absolutely terrifying, and I'm scared for my partner as she likes to take the dog out for a walk but it makes me fear for her safety, the fact that this has happened on our doorstep."
