Around £1 million is being spent on the historic building in Skinner Street, which will be called Astoria and the designs are said to be in keeping with the history of the building, which dates back to 1936.

The transformation is the brainchild of Wolverhampton based entrepreneur and developer Sam Evans. Last year he and a group of investors opened the food, drink and entertainment venue Bank, in an Edwardian Grade II listed premises next to the city's art gallery.

The new venue will also be home to the popular Bongo's Bingo which will be opening with a run of October dates.
