School's out! Pub staff decorate island with beloved characters to welcome summer holidays
A Black Country pub's staff have welcomed in the summer holidays by decorating a traffic island with iconic characters.
Staff from The New Pheasant pub on Wood End Road, Wolverhampton, have decorated an island with their favourite pop culture figures to celebrate the beginning of the summer holidays.
The busy island, which is located directly outside of the pub, is now adorned with popular characters like Mario, Princess Peach and a whole array of Disney princesses.
Wayne Parkes, landlord at The New Pheasant, said: "I have actually been doing this for a while now, we also decorated the island for the 75th anniversary of the NHS and the king's coronation. I am kind of expected to do it these days.
