The Axiom Building Solutions premises in Wednesfield will be turned into seven flats under plans approved this week.

The two-storey building on Wood End Road will be divided into self-contained living units, with four apartments on the ground floor and three above.

The site is located close to the Wood End roundabout near The Pheasant pub, with a variety of shops and amenities close by.

A report to planners from ADM Surveyors, the agents acting on behalf of applicant Mr Ian Hough, said a number of alterations would be made to the existing building’s facade, including windows and doors.

The report said: “The building has nine parking bays at the front of the site and also security gates which will be retained in the development.

"There are plans to add two extra parking bays and the existing garage will be used for cycle storage and bins.

“On the ground floor there will be four entrances, three of which will lead directly into flats, with a main entrance providing access to a lobby, stairs and the other ground floor flat.

"The stairs are being relocated to the front of the building and a plant room inside the lobby is also planned.

“The majority of the site will remain in its current form with alterations limited to the main building, garage, and amenity space at the rear of the premises.

"A large grassed area including low-level shrubbery and planting will also be included in the development.”
