Pedestrian seriously injured after being hit by trailer near West Park

A man has been seriously injured after being hit by a trailer in Wolverhampton.

The man was walking on Newhampton Road East, near West Park, when he was hit by the trailer which was being towed by a vehicle at around 1.45pm on Tuesday.

The man was treated by paramedics before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

West Midlands Police has confirmed it is investigating the incident.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent two ambulances, two paramedic officers and an air ambulance to the scene.

An ambulance service spokesman said: "On arrival, crews found the pedestrian, a man, with serious injuries.

"He received advanced trauma care on scene and was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham via land ambulance on blue lights and sirens for further emergency treatment."
